Making that metaphor with "consuming" something, as if to say you're "digesting" it and then "realeasing" it... was a disturbing visual image but an imapctful one.

There's this visual of 3 fishes, one progressively bigger than other, eating each other.
Unfortunately, I feel like this is true. People watch videos to distract them from other things in life, rather than to truly be present with what they're taking in (audio, video, or writing).
